Evangelical Community Hospital

For more than 75 years, Evangelical Community Hospital has delivered the best to its patients and their communities by providing compassionate and accessible healthcare.

Evangelical Community Hospital Evangelical is licensed to accommodate 128 overnight patients, 8 Subacute Care Unit patients, 12 Acute Rehabilitation Unit patients, and 18 newborns. It is a private, not-for-profit hospital offering a full breadth of care. Services range from comprehensive diagnostic tests to delicate microsurgery, and from specific treatment programs to numerous outpatient services.

Geisinger Medical Center

Geisinger Medical Center is a 437-bed hospital in Danville containing a Level I trauma center, The Janet Weis Children’s Hospital, Janet Weis Women’s Health Pavilion, The Heart Hospital at Geisinger Medical Center, and treatment centers for cancer, kidney transplants, neurological diseases, infertility, and more.

HospitalGeisinger is the region’s largest primary care center, as well as the community hospital for Danville. The Medical Center staff includes professionals in more than 75 medical and surgical specialties, including cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, spinal cord injury surgery, high-risk obstetrical care, and neonatal intensive care. All doctors who practice at the hospital have outpatient offices on campus. The hospital also houses diagnostic services such as MRI, PET, and CT scanners, and outpatient services including a pharmacy, an eyewear center, and an in-and-out surgery center.

The Top 100 Hospitals Study has repeatedly named Geisinger Medical Center as among the best-performing hospitals in the United States. In recent years, it has been singled out in the study for setting benchmarks in coronary artery bypass graft surgery and stroke care.

Sunbury Community Hospital & Outpatient Center

SCH is an acute-care for profit hospital of CHS/Community Health Systems, Inc. that began as the Mary M. Packer Hospital in 1895. Originally the hospital was housed in a Victorian mansion on Catawissa Avenue in Sunbury. By the mid-20th Century, community health needs had outgrown the building and strong community support was mounted to build a new hospital.

Hospital EntranceThe modern five-story brick building we know today as Sunbury Community Hospital & Outpatient Center was constructed on North Eleventh Street in Sunbury in 1951. Its most recent expansion, dedicated in 1998, features a state-of-the-art Outpatient Center that includes a new surgical suite and post-anesthesia care unit. Earlier expansions took place in 1967 and 1984.

Susquehanna Health System

HospitalThe Susquehanna Health System, an alliance of three hospitals including The Williamsport Hospital & Medical Center, Divine Providence Hospital, and Muncy Valley Hospital, is located just to the north of the Greater Susquehanna Valley. The system has 210 active physicians in 50 specialties. The three hospitals contain a total of 450 licensed acute beds and 22 bassinets, as well as 139 long-term care beds in their Skilled Nursing Unit. In addition, Susquehanna Physician Services, which provides basic care in a range of specialties, employs more than 100 physicians in 40 practice locations.
