Charlie Ross

Charlie Ross serves as the President/CEO of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce. He works closely with the Chamber's Board of Directors, committees and affiliates in order to implement and coordinate the Chamber's new strategic plan, the Chamber's mission and the daily activities of the Chamber.

In September, 2002, Charlie Ross returned to his native Garrett County to serve as President and CEO of the Garrett County Chamber of Commerce Inc.  Prior to his return in 2002 he worked for 25 years as a government and public affairs consultant for a great variety of clients with his expertise in legal strategies, marketing and advertising and survey research.

Charlie was elected 2007 to 2009 to represent all 18 rural Maryland counties as chairman of the Rural Maryland Council.  He was also chosen to chair the Maryland Rural Broadband Coordination Board, which is responsible for funding statewide expansion of broadband service.

On June 15, 2009, he began his service as president and CEO of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and executive director of SIDCO.  He graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with a bachelor’s in English and received his Juris Doctor three years later from the University of Maryland School of Law.  At Garrett College he taught Introduction to Business and Business Law.

Jennifer Daddario

As Director of Operations, Jennifer Daddario supervises the day-to-day activities of the Chamber Business Center. She also oversees the implementation of projects and initiatives for the Membership Development and Community Development divisions of the Chamber, and is the program director of Leadership Susquehanna Valley.

Jennifer also works to provide members with exclusive networking, targeted marketing and cost saving opportunities, striving to put Chamber members first. As Director of Membership Development, Jennifer guides potential clients to Chamber businesses. Through telephone referrals, Web site referrals, and organizing cost efficient opportunities for members to reach their markets, Jennifer also works to improve the bottom line of members by increasing their business. Working with the director of programming, Jennifer assists in coordinating events to ensure and increase the Chamber’s membership support. She is responsible for maintaining the membership database and is instrumental in all membership recruitment efforts. Jennifer is staff support for the ambassador and membership committees as well as Leadership Susquehanna Valley.

Jennifer’s business experience includes 10 years in the financial planning field. She holds a four-year degree in psychology with minors in sociology/social welfare and piano from Bloomsburg University. Jennifer is a graduate of Northumberland Christian School.


Director of Programs & Development

Renee Gerringer

As the Director of Programs & Development, Renee Gerringer is responsible for securing sponsorships and development opportunities that will ensure the Chamber’s long-term viability. She works tirelessly putting together monthly meetings, business networking gatherings and a number of premier events throughout the year, all with the goal of providing quality opportunities for the Chamber’s members to grow their businesses.

Renee comes to the Chamber after nearly a decade working in the human services industry. Most recently she completed a six-year tenure with the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank in Williamsport, Pa., where she oversaw ongoing programs that deliver food to children and elderly individuals in need. She also planned and implemented an annual fundraiser, “Soup & a Bowl,” that was warmly received throughout the greater Williamsport area. She looks forward to putting into practice the skills she honed at the Food Bank to better serve the members of the Chamber.

Renee is a graduate of Danville Area High School and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bloomsburg University, with a concentration in human resources.

Robert Luff

Formerly a professional journalist, Robert Luff manages all outgoing communications and runs the GSVCC Web site. He direct multiple digital newsletters and serves as editor of the Chamber's monthly flagship publication, Voice of the Valley.

Robert works with members of local and out-of-area media to get the Chamber's messages out to the public and to numerous audiences, via press releases, interviews and radio roundtable discussions. He also takes on the role of marketing Chamber events and initiatives, and assists members in marketing their own businesses.

He also serves as a liason to the Selinsgrove Chamber of Commerce, maintaining a decades-long partnership with the Main Street organization. In addition, Robert is the staff support to a number of GSVCC committees, including the Business & Education, Downtown Affiliates and Governmental Affairs committees.

Prior to joining the Chamber, Robert worked for two years as a newspaper reporter for the Public Opinion in Chambersburg, Pa., covering education and local government. He is a graduate of Shippensburg University and holds bachelor's degrees in communications/journalism and history, with a concentration in computer science.

Jenny Williams

The newest addition to the Chamber team, Jenny Williams initially worked as an extern to the Chamber. After impressing the staff greatly, they took her on officially as the Chamber’s Receptionist/Assistant Bookkeeper in July 2011.

Jenny's is the first face members see as they come through the door, and she helps each staff member juggle their various projects. Jenny provides support to the President/CEO, maintains professional relationships with members and the general public, coordinates the Chamber’s member services, and provides clerical and other support services as needed.

Jenny is a recent graduate of McCann School of Business and Technology, earning an associate degree in administrative office technology. While serving as a student, Jenny also dedicated herself to a work-study position in the career services department at McCann. Through the work study position, she was able to learn and grow in her field, bringing that experience to the Chamber.

By becoming part of the Chamber’s team, Jenny is seeking to grow and evolve professionally. She hopes to support the businesses and people in the Valley in achieving their own professional goals.

Executive Assistant

Barbara Gonsar

As the Executive Assistant, Barbara works closely with the Chamber President. Her primary responsibility is to oversee all the finances of the Chamber, including financial activities associated with Leadership Susquehanna Valley, Susquehanna Industrial Development Corporation (SIDCO), Sunbury New Enterprises Expansion Drive, Inc. (SNEED), and FOCUS Central PA.

Barbara brings to the Chamber previous work experience with the Union County Industrial Development Corporation where she acted as an administrative assistant. Her Chamber work allows her to expand on her economic development experience at UCIDC, while allowing her the opportunity to work with more businesses than before. She also assists with economic development projects in the Valley, combining past and present knowledge to better the Chamber and its members.

Barbara is a Cherry Hill, N.J., native who moved to the area over thirty years ago after completing a degree in history at Susquehanna University. She became a resident of the area shortly after graduation and is now motivated to help provide future opportunities for other people of the Valley.

 

*The Chamber also employs numerous externs and interns from the local universities and technical schools.
