Exporters who follow the guidelines of PEI will receive an incentive in the amount of $50 per container or $3 per metric ton for bulk shipments. Here are a few guidelines for PEI:
Export full container or bulk cargo from a location within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The cargo must be sourced or manufactured in Pennsylvania.
The cargo must be loaded on a vessel at a Philadelphia Regional Port Authority marine terminal.
Submit a copy of the original Ocean Bill of Lading to the Philadelphia Regional Port authority within 14 days of the vessel’s sailing date.
$2,500 maximum incentive per shipper per vessel voyage.
No shipper may receive more than $7,500 under this program in a fiscal year (July 1 to June 30).
Shippers meeting these guidelines will receive an incentive of $50 per full container load of cargo or $3 per metric ton. This incentive will be forwarded to the shipper in the form of a corporate check, drawn on a U.S. Bank.
