Nine industry clusters along with critical sub-clusters have been identified in Pennsylvania. These clusters account for almost 69 percent of all employment in the state. They are:

   Significant Sub-Clusters: chemicals, rubber, plastics, electronics, metals & metal fabrication, printing, vehicle & vehicle equipment

   Significant Sub-Clusters: food processing

5. Education
6. Information & Communication Services
7. Life Sciences
   Significant Sub-Clusters: bio-medical, health care
8. Logistics & Transportation
9. Lumber Wood & Paper
