Penn State and GSVCC extend Education Alliance benefits to spouses and legal dependents

The Penn State World Campus Education Alliance makes high-quality online learning available to the employees of businesses that are members of the Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce (GSVCC). Through this new benefit extension, employees, their spouses, and legal dependents can now receive a tuition reduction when they take courses through Penn State World Campus, the University’s online campus. Until recently, only GSVCC employees were eligible to take advantage of this benefit.

The employees, spouses, and legal dependents who enroll in Penn State World Campus can choose from more than 125 undergraduate and graduate online degrees and certificates, including programs in nursing, business, finance, and education. Participants will have access to a wide variety of student support services, such as admissions counseling, advising, tutoring and career counseling.

Leslie Black, assistant manager at Cole's Hardware in Danville, recently took advantage of Education Alliance benefits, enrolling in World Campus classes to pursue her degree. Cole's Hardware is a GSVCC member, making Black eligible for a tuition reduction and other benefits.

"I needed a challenge," said Black, 55, who lives in Bloomsburg. "I'm having a great experience. I've got a goal in mind, and I'm not going to let anything stop me."
